I have no other words for this year’s relay no. 1. Once again, disaster!
Pity, it could have been THE race for us, but unfortunately, bad-luck (if I could call it like this) was on our back holding tightly this time. We’ve lost over 14 min on the first leg, our 1st leg specialist, Svihak, didn’t have his day this time. Following boys did their best, so I went off on my 5th leg with just one think in my mind, no mistakes. It was a nice plan, but of course for some reason, the plan somehow failed. I missed over 4 min on one control in the middle of the race. Punching this bloody control together with Sami, saying some nice words, we pushed on, but it was too late! F****
But the last drop was just about to come… Kim did a perfect race on his 6th leg, only that he had to wait for about 4 min with a map for Chlöde by the exchange bar shouting and waving like a maniac. I can only imagine how despaired he must have been there.

Even though the overall 20th position is my Jukola best, I wish that Salo-Jukola was just a bad dream. Unfortunately, it was not…

PS: after sauna and some beer, it feels like there are perhaps other more important things in our lives…

…was finally a good sprint race for me! No big mistakes, good speed, light legs…
Unfortunately only few seconds had separated me from the dreamed top 10. Well, next time? However, there were 5 guys ahead of me who could say the same, and for example Sami was only 1s behind! So I’m happy with my 16th place.

Last year I was number 31, this year 16, so next year…?
